Support

As great as our team members are (and they are!), we can't do this alone: We need the support of our family, friends, and community. Please take a moment to consider supporting this mission.

Monetary Donations

All monetary donations received are used to purchase medical supplies, medications, food for distribution, Days for Girls hygiene kits, construction materials, and other items in order to provide the services so desperately needed.

Here are a few ideas as to what your donation can purchase.

Sponsor a Medical Clinic Day

Sponsor our team for one day to hold a medical clinic in one of the bateyes. Often, this is the only medical care these people get all year as they have no means to travel to the hospital.

Sponsor a Duffel Bag full of Supplies

We'll buy various medical supplies such as over-the-counter medicines, bandages, and medical devices, and stuff them into a duffel bag. Each team member will bring two 50-pound bags.

Hospital Construction & Hurricane Relief

The Good Samaritan Hospital, which our teams have helped build from the ground up, is constructing a new operating suite. We will also help repair damaged bateyes from Hurricane Fiona.

Days for Girls Hygiene Kits

Young women in the Dominican Republic, especially in the remote sugarcane villages, do not have access to feminine hygiene supplies. This has a negative impact on their families and the local economy. This Days for Girls Kit, with education, allows these young women to continue their education or jobs, uninterrupted by days missed each month.

Non-Monetary Donations

  • Medical, Pharmacy, Clothing and Office Supplies We can use your help filling those duffel bags! Please see the attached Supplies Needed List for the items and quantities that we are collecting.
  • Silent Auction Items Our biggest fundraiser is our annual Caribbean Dinner, held in January. We welcome the donation of items for our silent auction, such as gift certificates, electronics, passes, and memorabilia.
  • Super Bowl Box Lunches Our second biggest fundraiser occurs the Sunday of the Super Bowl. People create box lunches that are auctioned off, often times with homemade sandwiches and entrees; beer, wine, or soda; cheese and crackers; chips and dips; candy and cookies; and paper plates, plastic utensils, and napkins. You'll likely want to bid on multiple box lunches!

The 2024 Donation Letter, with more information, is available for distribution or to retain for your records.

You may drop off items at the First Church office (6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, Sterling, MA), or contact us for pick up.

Please give as generously as you are able. To the extent allowable by law, this is a tax-deductible donation and your gift of money or goods will make a huge difference in the lives of these faithful yet impoverished people.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our trip leaders, or. Thank you very much for considering a donation to our La Romana mission. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we embark on this year’s mission trip.
